Hear from our teachers
Miss Domguia, Head of Maths
I’ve been at All Saints for over 7 years now, since July 2015, which tells you how great a place it is to work. I came here as an NQT(Newly Qualify Teacher), was made a Key Stage Lead in my third year, and now I’m the Head of Maths. The training and development opportunities available to staff are fantastic.
What makes the academy truly special though, is the family environment and links to the community that we all help to create. Every child matters to us, and with the support of our parents we make sure no child is left behind. My favourite time of the week is on a Friday afternoon when the whole school gathers in the Sports Hall to celebrate the incredible achievements of our scholars that week.
I love coming in to work every day. It’s a privilege to teach our children and see them develop, both academically and into mature young people. I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m still here in another 7 years!
Ms Wilson, Math Teacher
“I feel incredibly lucky to have started my teaching career at Ark All Saint’s Academy. I started my training as a Maths teacher here in September 2021 and have been well supported by my coach, department, and SLT from the very beginning. There is a positive team spirit that permeates into all areas of school life: support inside the classroom, effective professional feedback, collaborative working, and opportunities to partake in extra-curricular activities. Despite being at the start of my teaching career, I have had the chance to take ownership of tasks within the department, and to work with other teams across the school. Everybody is striving towards improving the opportunities for our scholars, and it is a joy to work towards this with such a fantastic team of colleagues.
At All Saints, we value knowing every child: we serve a wonderful local community and I have really enjoyed building positive relationships with our scholars and their families. I am excited to support their academic and personal progress as they grow into young adults. The team here have built a culture of gratitude, celebration and appreciation – each week staff give “shout-outs” to each other to acknowledge each other’s hard work. Later in the day, we shout-out individual scholars for success they have had during the week – it is amazing to see how much this means to those scholars who are selected. Scholars and staff feel safe and at home here (and not to mention, the food is pretty great too!)”
Mr Jack, Science Teacher
Ark All Saints is an exciting school to work in! It feels great to be a part of a supportive, collaborative staff atmosphere with plenty of opportunities for development and coaching. I started here as an ATT 2 years ago and have loved working in the Science department alongside knowledgeable and generous colleagues.
All staff are clear the first priority is the children we work with, leading to our guiding principles and a clear vision for their success. The leadership team and staff work together to foster a sense of community in the school. This is reflected in comments from our visitors often highlighting excellent work in departments and relationship building with scholars.
As a subject lead I have had the opportunity to develop my own leadership and management skills. This has enabled me to look beyond the excellent initial Ark training and start to deliver my own co-planning and data analysis. This is supplemented by the CPD opportunities across the network, learning alongside colleagues at other Ark schools.
A diverse and inclusive school
We have committed to delivering a series of commitments as part of a longer-term diversity and inclusion strategy.
