Are you a great teacher? Work for Ark All Saints
“We aim for all scholars to leave Ark All Saints Academy equipped with the skills necessary for success at university or to pursue a career of their choice.”
Are you a talented teacher looking to take the next step in your career? You should work at All Saints Academy – and here are six compelling reasons why:
1) Be part of something new and exciting and grow with us
Ark All Saints Academy opened in 2013 with a single, four-form year group, and is growing from there. As part of our team, you’ll be at the forefront of something new and exciting. You could be part of the school getting its first set of outstanding GCSE results, or leading the school’s first cohort of scholars to top Russell Group or Oxbridge universities.
Because Ark All Saints is a new, developing school, you’ll have the chance to really shape your department – choosing the exam boards, texts and materials you want to teach.
2) Continue to develop throughout your career
We recognise that to achieve great things, we need great people. That’s why we will help you to be the very best that you can be, throughout your entire career. We offer twice the standard number of training days – including our network-wide ‘Hub Days’ where peers join together to learn and share best practice. There are also opportunities for online training and bespoke learning and mentoring programmes.
If you're ambitious, we have a programme called "Aspiring to Headship" which identifies teachers with leadership potential, and helps them develop the skills they need to become a great head or principal.
Ark currently has 31 schools across London, Birmingham, Hastings and Portsmouth (and we are always growing!) so when the time comes for you to move on, there are plenty of opportunities across the network.
3) Work in an amazing environment
As a staff member at Ark All Saints, you’ll be working in a brand-new building that has already been shortlisted for a RIBA-Stirling Prize, the country’s top architectural gong.
As Principal Lucy Frame says: “The building is beautiful and everyone feels valued. Our scholars commented that they love the building and its facilities and now feel like they really fit in with the school – right down to their uniforms. It is much easier to have high expectations when the building is stunning.”
Even more amazing than the actual building is what goes on inside it We are dedicated to offering our scholars and an amazing curriculum that challenges them and expands their horizons.
4) You won't be bored. Ever.
We know that an excellent education means more than just great exam results. It means building scholars’ resilience and character, helping them to be ready for the world. We encourage scholars from different Ark schools to come together and enjoy a wide variety of enrichment events, and that means opportunities for teachers to participate as well.
We have spelling bees, debating contests, sports days and maths 'wrangles,' and it all culminates in the Ark Music Gala, a huge event held at a world famous venue where dozens of schools and hundreds of scholars perform pieces ranging from Adele to Beethoven. See it for yourself:
5) Be part of something bigger
Ark All Saints is part of the Ark network, a non-profit organisation that believes that every child should have the very best start in life, regardless of background, so when the time comes; they are able to go onto university on into the career of their choice.
6) It's all about the kids.
You probably guessed that this would be the final reason to become a teacher at an Ark school. But it's true. As Ark All Saints’ first scholars said on the opening of the new building: “Why are we here? To go to university.”
